WELCOME TO ROOTMARK

About RootMark

RootMark was born from the belief that the most meaningful designs are not created by machines, but shaped through memory, tradition, and skilled human hands. Every piece we curate carries the spirit of India’s rich tribal heritage — stories passed down through generations, expressed through intricate craftsmanship, natural materials, and timeless artistry.

We bring India’s ancient tribal art traditions into modern homes not as forgotten relics of the past, but as living expressions of culture, identity, and creativity. From handcrafted decor to artisanal statement pieces, RootMark celebrates the beauty of handmade work while supporting the communities and artisans who keep these traditions alive.

WOODEN ACCESSORIES

Our Craft Traditions

Our collection centres on three remarkable craft traditions from central India.

Dhokra Metal Art

Cast by hand using the lost-wax technique — a method over 4,000 years old. Each piece is a one-off, shaped from beeswax and clay before being poured in molten brass.

Wrought Iron Craft

Raw iron, heated and hammered into form by tribal blacksmiths. No moulds, no machinery just fire, muscle, and an eye passed down through generations.

Gond Art Paintings

Rooted in the storytelling traditions of the Gond tribe. Every painting maps a world of myth, nature, and ritual in intricate dots and lines no two works are alike.

PHILOSOPHY

Founder

Some things stay with you long before you understand why.

Growing up in Chhattisgarh, I was always surrounded by the art and craft of the region. As a child it simply felt familiar — something I saw travelling through the regions, in markets, homes, and conversations around me.

It was only after returning nearly fifteen years later that I began to see these traditions differently.

What once felt ordinary suddenly revealed its depth.

Seeing the gap — between the richness of the craft and its limited reach in the wider world — led me to start RootMark.

Because these traditions deserve not just to survive — but to be seen, valued, and carried forward.
