This is the village where Jangarh Singh Shyam first moved Gond art from mud walls onto paper and canvas in the 1980s, launching the tradition internationally. Rajendra Singh Uikey paints it as he sees it — tightly packed houses, clay-tiled roofs layered over each other, birds sitting on the ridgelines. He treats the village the same way Gond artists treat animals — each surface filled with its own hand-drawn texture. No two walls share the same colour or pattern. Every house is a different combination of wavy lines, rain-dash patterns, stippled surfaces.
