Dhokra Brass Elephant (Pair)
A pair of solid brass elephants with raised trunks — cast by hand using the Dhokra lost-wax technique.
The surface is built through layered wax threadwork, forming the ribbed pattern across the body, with small beaded details along the spine and head — a characteristic feature of Bastar metalcraft. Each piece is cast using a single-use mould, resulting in slight variations from pair to pair.
In Indian tradition, raised trunks are associated with good fortune and strength, reflected here in the upward movement of the form. Two individual pieces, sold as a pair.
Works well on a bookshelf, desk, or side table, where the form and detailing can be appreciated up close.
