Rajendra Singh Uikey builds the elephant as an extension of the deciduous landscape it belongs to, rather than a separate form. The mustard and red sections draw from laterite earth and dry shrubs, while the fine parallel linework reflects the tall grasses found in the artist’s home region. The dark semicircular wave patterns are a core identifier of Gond painting, used across the tradition as a signature texture.
Instead of filling the animal with a single motif, the surface shifts continuously, echoing how the forest itself changes from ground to foliage to movement. In Gond thought, animals and their environment are not separate — the elephant doesn’t just live in the forest, it carries it.

Packaging
Paintings ship in custom protective tubes. Décor pieces are packed in rigid gift boxes inside corrugated outer packaging. Everything is designed to arrive exactly as it left.
Something not right?
If your piece arrives damaged, send us photos within 48 hours of delivery. We’ll send a replacement or issue a full refund. You won’t need to ship anything back. All pieces are handmade and shipped internationally — we’re unable to accept returns for change of mind, so please check dimensions and images carefully before ordering.
